Special Sessions and Tutorials

BalkanCom is a premier technical conference in communications and networking in the Balkan region. The goal of BalkanCom is to bring together researchers in academia, research labs and industry from all over the world to the historical region of the Balkans. BalkanCom 2026 with the theme, Networks Meet Intelligence: The Future is Now, continues the best tradition of scientific conferences of being completely not for profit. The ninth edition of the conference will take place on 16-19 June 2026 in Ulcinj, Montenegro.

In addition to technical symposia and high-profile keynote speakers, BalkanCom 2026 invites submissions for Special Sessions and Tutorials.

Special Sessions

Special Sessions will provide an opportunity to focus on selected emerging topics under the conference's overarching topic of “Networks Meet Intelligence: The Future is Now”, and may include a mix of regular papers and short invited talks.

Tutorials

Tutorials will focus on comprehensive overviews of the current state of the art in selected topics emerging under the main theme of the conference, following either the short (1.5 hour) or the long (3 hour) format.

We invite submissions of proposals for Special Sessions and Tutorials for BalkanCom 2026. Both Special Sessions and Tutorials should aim to complement the conference technical program with comprehensive overviews or in-depth insights into selected emerging topics, highlighting research and development challenges in emerging AI-powered communication, information, and networking technologies.
