BalkanCom 2023 Special Session:

AI Empowered Cellular Communication and Computing Service Management

Organizers and Chairs:

  • Carolina Fortuna, Jozef Stefan Institute, Slovenia
  • Alexandros-Apostolos Boulogeorgos, University of West. Macedonia, Greece

Scope of the Papers

AI will drive the next generation cellular networks in achieving higher performance, increased reliability, and greater security, making it possible to support more advanced and innovative use cases leading to novel business models. This special session intends to lead the conversation around AI techniques and their explainability as well as AI model lifecycle management for a) virtualization and predictive resource allocation for better resource allocation and service creation, b) predictive maintenance for identifying potential issues before they cause service disruptions thus improving network uptime and reliability and c) semantic communications for more efficient and robust data transmission. This session is strongly supported by the ideas and work of the recently started HORIZON-JU-SNS-2022 project NANCY.
