Usage scenarios and spectrum challenges in 6G
Invited Session description
Future wireless connectivity is envisioned to accommodate functionalities far beyond broadband data transmission. The concepts of ubiquitous connectivity, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning aided communications and integrated sensing and communication introduce new beyond communications paradigms, where communication nodes can be employed to deliver a diverse range of functionalities, including mapping the environment, reading the shape of surrounding obstacles, detecting the presence of objects, focusing power, localizing, tracking mobility and navigating. The objective of this Special Session is to discuss the challenges associated with the novel usage scenarios and spectrum requirements and explore technology and deployment trends.
