5G and Beyond

Post-5G Wireless Communication

Organizer and Chair:

Petar Popovski, Aalborg University, Denmark

Scope of the Papers

As 5G wireless communication systems are in a standardization phase and deployments starts to be announced, the research community starts to address the problems of wireless connectivity relevant for the post-5G systems. A post-5G system can be defined as a wireless system not encompassed by the ongoing 5G standardization. Several trends for the post-5G systems are already visible: central role of machine learning and data analytics in designing and operating wireless connections, changes in the use cases of Internet-of-Things (IoT) systems compared to the two generic 5G cases (massive and ultra-reliable low latency), NewSpace and satellite-terrestrial integration, etc. This session features talks by research groups that address different aspects of post-5G systems.

This Special Session will feature Invited Papers only.
